Darren Rea's digital creation showcasing many of his original works
Darren Rea is a Cree–Métis artist based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, working on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy, Tsuut’ina Nation, Stoney Nakoda Nations, and the Métis Nation of Alberta. His practice is rooted in a deep spiritual connection to nature, shaped by his upbringing near the Rocky Mountains and years of personal exploration through ceremony, meditation, and Indigenous teachings.
Darren’s work explores themes of presence, identity, and healing—inviting viewers into a state of reflection, reconnection, and insight. Through intuitive symbolism and layered imagery, he expresses the unseen currents that link people, land, and spirit. His art seeks to awaken the inner light within others, offering a quiet yet powerful reminder of the sacredness found in the present moment and the shared responsibility to co‑create a future grounded in love, integrity, and wisdom.
